More on Our Auto Service Specialties
Brake Repair & Service
Our mechanics are trained and equipped to handle all types of brake repair and maintenance items for import and domestic vehicles, including brake pad and shoe replacement, brake caliper replacement, brake hose replacement, and brake fluid flushes. If you hear a screeching or grinding noise when you brake, feel vibrations, or your brakes simply aren’t responding as well as they once did, it’s time to have your brakes inspected and serviced. It’s necessary to protect yourself, your passengers, and other drivers on the road.
Check Engine Light
Is your check engine light on? Have you been avoiding finding out why, perhaps fearing an expensive auto repair bill? As experienced mechanics, let us tell you—it’s better to identify the problem triggering your check engine light sooner rather than later to prevent causing more damage to your vehicle. At Bourne’s Service Center, we use the Snap-on Diagnostics ZEUS, which features Intelligent Diagnostics software, which provides the functions and tips necessary to diagnose and repair any issue.
Oil Change / Lube Service
When you drive your car, the engine becomes very hot, and heat makes oil break down. Broken down oil doesn’t move through your engine well, which means the oil can’t do its job of lubricating engine components. That’s why regular oil changes are very important for keeping your engine functioning properly. When we finish your oil change, your engine will run under optimal conditions, with a new oil filter and fresh oil. Plus, we’ll perform a 46-point inspection and give you honest car care advice if we see any issues.
Scheduled Maintenance
Staying on top of scheduled maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotation, fluid top-offs, and fluid flushes is necessary to preserve your vehicle’s value, safety, and dependability. Scheduled maintenance also helps you avoid breakdowns and minimizes the likelihood of needing a high-cost auto repair—because your mechanic will be able to identify and repair issues before they become major problems. At Bourne’s Service Center, we emphasize scheduled maintenance as the smart way to keep your car running well.
Tires & Alignments
Strong tires and regular wheel alignments keep your car running safely and efficiently by promoting safer driving conditions and improving gas mileage. Bad tires and wheel alignment problems are not only dangerous to drive with, but also have the potential to turn into steering and suspension issues because of the extra stress placed on your suspension system components. We offer precision wheel alignments with a Snap-on alignment system, as well as quality tires and snow tires installed with a scratch-free tire changer.
Vermont State Vehicle Inspections
If you live and drive in Vermont, you must have your vehicle inspected by a state-approved auto repair shop or inspection station annually. Our shop is a licensed Vermont State Vehicle Inspection Station ready to perform your inspection, as well as any necessary services to ensure your inspection goes smoothly. If you fail to have your vehicle inspected, you will be fined, and/or you won’t be allowed to renew your registration, so don’t wait if you’ve recently purchased a vehicle or you’re due for an inspection.
