Get on Board with Bourne’s Service Center

In 1983, Bourne's Service Center started as a two-bay auto service station in Stowe, Vermont. Rene Bourne opened the shop with every cent he had to his name (and a few he didn’t) with one technician and himself. Two years later—after thoroughly enjoying the challenge, success, and people of Stowe—Rene had the opportunity to move to South Burlington and take over a larger auto repair shop. He couldn’t pass up the chance to grow the business, and three decades later, Bourne's Service Center is still going strong.

From the Owner, Rene Bourne

Since opening this shop over 35 years ago, it’s been a thrill ride serving drivers in South Burlington, and it continues to bring me great joy and satisfaction. My background is in math and science, but growing up, my family owned a service station, and I worked in my father’s shop. While I never thought I’d make a career out of auto repair, my upbringing has led me happily here.

The people I’ve been able to meet and work with at the shop have greatly influenced my life, even enabling me to meet my wife, Sharon, of over 25 years. My family has and continues to be a great resource for me—at home and on the job. Indeed, I am inspired to treat everyone who comes to Bourne's Service Center like family and working with people is a huge part of why I do this job.
